Four years later, Trump appointed Damon to sit on the president’s advice on sports, fitness and nutrition. Now, the legend of baseball has supported the commander-in-chief on issues such as prices on American neighbors and the Russian-Ukraine war.
The 51 -year -old knows that his political affiliations could trigger abuse, but Damon insists that he does not bother criticizing if that means defending “what is good”.
“I can catch sorrow, but I’m not too concerned”, “he told Ricky Cobb Show.” I’m not too concerned about that because I know what is good.

He added: “I know that illegal immigrants who are criminals should not be in our country. I know this should be a fair playground – that’s why the prices are coming.
Trump confirmed on Monday that 25% of import taxes in Mexico and Canada would start on Tuesday – despite fears of a trade war that has already shown signs of inflation and growth thrust.
Damon also weighed the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, only a few days after Trump and JD Vance had a stormy exchange with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the White House.
“I mentioned my friends years ago:” Will Ukraine ever reimburse us? I mean we give them so much money “and everyone said” yeah, I don’t know how it works “”, continued Damon.
“Well, as we see on the world scene at the moment, President Trump is trying to make peace with Russia and Ukraine … and there is a lot of war that nobody wants to have.”
Damon, who won the World Series with the Red Sox (2004) and the Yankees (2009) insisted that his priority was his children.
“I am a 51 year old man with eight children. I worry about the future of my children. I want to make sure they live in a safe world, ” he said.
“I know I have a lot of friends on the right, many friends on the left and many of them agree with Trump’s policies. They just don’t like how strong he is of a boss and our country needed something like that.
