Unfortunately, it is obtained from perfectly bouncing curls, unfortunately, a decent amount of damage. And once the damage caused, it is difficult to undo. So when the curling trend with socks has become viral, everyone jumped on board. The idea behind the sock curls is an easy and effortless way to create loops and waves that compete with what a curling iron or hot rolls is without any heat.
Tiktok is perhaps responsible for the recent explosion of curly hair with socks, but the hairdresser of celebrities Julius Michael says that the trend dates back to the 60s and 70s: “Before hot rollers or curling irons are a “ Something ”, women used socks, cut T-shirts, and even soda or beer cans like rollers in their hair.
It is a known fact that heat is the last hair offender. “If you use warmth daily or each time you hair your hair, curling hair with socks is a great way to take a break to take healthy,” said Kimberly Gueldner, celebrity hairdresser. “The technique works for all hair types and is particularly ideal for women with frizzy hair or hair that does not hold a loop.” Depending on how you wrap your hair around the hair around the socks, determine if you will end up with tight curls or a loose and fluid wave.
To complete your hair with socks, you will need a few pairs of long and clean tube socks (make sure they extend from the root of the hair to the ends), elastic or silk wheelbarrows, And a few bobby pins or a few small clips.
Start with freshly washed and packaged hair – if a hair washing session is not in the cards, wet the hair with a spray bottle. Michael recommends using a purifying shampoo to eliminate any accumulation of heavy products and apply a volumining product with wet hair. Let the hair air dry about 50% before rolling it around the socks.
Paint in the hair to eliminate tangles, knots or rumbles. The hair should be without knots, so it is easier to wrap around the socks. In addition, doing socks on gruel and tangled hair can cause hair breaking.
Divide the hair into two or four sections of equal size depending on its texture (use fewer sections for fine hair; more for thicker hair). Pull each section on the side and cut it with a claw clip.
Take one of the hair sections and a sock. Use a claw clip to fix the hair to the sock at the root and another clip to fix it at the ends. The placement does not need to be perfect because it is simply a question of bringing the sock not to move much.
Take a section, remove the lower clip and divide this section of hair into two small sections. Start winding the hair around a clean sock from the root down, alternating a section of hair on the other to create a X pattern, as if you braid it. Or, Michael says to weave the sock in the hair sections, which will create a wave of mermaid more. “Always ride the hair up and away from the face,” he said.
When a hair section is completely rolled up around the sock, tie it with a silk or brunchy elastic or wrap the hair in the open end of the sock. Then pull the sock to the ear and place it on the top of the head, staring at it with bobby pins or a claw clip.
Go to the next hair section and repeat the entire process.
After all the hair is rolled around the socks and secure, it’s time to let the socks work their magic. Leave the hair wrapped in the socks for a few hours or overnight, which is the best.
When the hair is completely dry, Michael says to gently unpack each section, one by one, of the sock.
Separate each section of hair by pouring your fingers or a wide tooth comb to gently loosen the loop. Finish with hair serum at the ends to add shine.

Single -free sock curls are a foolproof way to restore healthy hair, but like all other hairstyle methods come with their own advantages and disadvantages.
The waves of socks can be the most popular way to complete hair without heat, but it is not the only way to do it. Consider these methods without warmth closely.
Gueldner suggests sleeping in loose braids, which can add waves. “Treat the hair, then sleep with her will add more than a cool girl to the hair,” she adds.
“A bathrobe belt also works to wave hair without heat,” says Michael. “Wrap the hair around the belt and roll it. You will get sexy sweet waves like a fingertips style.”
Many hair care brands make loop kits without heat containing everything you need to style the hair. Instead of using socks to complete the hair, these kits include a silk rod or wrapped in satin to wind the hair.
While the Velcro rolls are most flex their muscle on dry hair, either as a style refreshment, or to add waves, you can use it on damp hair to adjust the loop pattern. “Roll your hair in it and let it stand until you are ready to comb it,” said Michael.
Michael says to use drinking straws to create more than one tight and elastic spiral loop. However, you will need to use a lot (maybe even the whole pack) because the sections of hair used should be small.
Opt for a classic pin buckle, which sculpts hair in a sweet but modern wave. Michael first says they complete small sections of hair with a roller clip. “Let the hair dry completely, and when you remove the clips, the hair will be in a tight loop that you can brush in a soft vintage hairstyle or use a wide tooth comb for a modern wave.”
By soaking wet hair, Michael said to sink the hair. “Let him wet and wrap a t-shirt around him for the night.”
For the waves inspired by the 70s at the Farrah Fawcett, Michael suggests wrapping sections of hair around the cans of soda or empty and clean beer (remove the summits and the stockings). “Ringing the hair around the cans and securing it with Bobby pins will give a very sexy eruption effect with little effort.”
