The US State Department stops medical-humanitarian visas for people in Gaza

Washington – The US State Department said on Saturday that it stopped all visitors’ visas for Gaza people while making a “complete and in -depth” review, a decision that was sentenced by pro -Palestinian groups.

The ministry said that “a small number” of temporary medical visas had been issued in recent days but had not provided figure.

The United States has issued more than 3,800 B1 / B2 visitors visas, which allow foreigners to wonder medical treatment in the United States, holders of the Palestinian Authority’s travel document until now in 2025, according to an analysis of the monthly figures provided on the Ministry’s website. This figure includes 640 visas issued in May.

The AP emits such travel documents to residents of the West Bank occupied by Israeli and the Gaza Strip. The department’s website has not included ventilation for the two territories.

The State Department’s decision to stop visitors’ visas for Gaza’s people comes after Laura Loopour, an far-right activist and an ally of President Donald Trump, said on social networks on Friday that the Palestinian “refugees” entered the United States this month.

Loomer’s declaration sparked the indignation among some Republicans, with the American representative Chip Roy, of Texas, saying that he would inquire about the issue and the Randy Fine representative, from Florida, describing him as a “national security risk”.

The American-Islamic Relations Council condemned this decision, claiming that it was the last sign of the “intentional cruelty” of the Trump administration.

The Palestine Children’s Rescue Fund said that the decision to stop visas would refuse access to medical care to injured and sick children in Gaza.

“This policy will have a devastating and irreversible impact on our ability to bring injured and seriously sick children from Gaza to the United States for vital medical treatment-a mission that has defined our work for over 30 years,” he said in a statement.

Gaza was devastated by a war which was launched on October 7, 2023, when the Palestinian militant group Hamas launched an attack on Israel, killing 1,200 people and taking 251 hostages, according to Israeli figures.

Israel’s offensive against Hamas in Gaza since then, has killed more than 61,000 Palestinians, according to local health officials.

The United States has not indicated that it would accept the Palestinians displaced by the war.
