US officials say that an army -related satellite company in China has given Houthis images to target warships and American ships in the Red Sea.
The American State Department accused a Chinese company on Thursday, Chang Guang Satellite Technology, of directly supporting attacks on the American interests of Houthi fighters supported by Iran and calling this “unacceptable”.

Earlier, the Financial Times cited US officials saying that the Satellite company, linked to the Chinese soldiers, provided Houthi rebels with images to target American warships and international ships in the Red Sea.
“We can confirm the report that Chang Guang Satellite Technology Company Limited directly supports Houthi terrorist attacks supported by Iran against American interests,” said State Department spokesman Tammy Bruce at a regular conference.
“China is constantly attempting … to present itself as a global peacemaker … However, it is clear that companies based in Beijing and China provide key economic and technical support to regimes like Russia, North Korea and Iran and its agents,” she said.
Bruce said that the Houthis’s company assistance had continued even if the United States had engaged with Beijing on the issue.
“The fact that they continue to do so is unacceptable,” she said.
Washington’s Chinese embassy spokesman Liu Pengyu said he didn’t know the situation, so had no comments. The company did not immediately respond to a request for comments.
China is the main strategic rival of Washington and the last charge arises while the two economic and military superpowers are in an important dead end on the trade in which US President Donald Trump has considerably increased prices on Chinese products.
