Francesca Albanian, an investigator of the United Nations in Israel with a history of anti -Semitism and vitriol against the Jewish State, can remain in office until 2028 despite the efforts of American and European legislators and Jewish groups to dislodge it, a special session of the United Nations Council of Human Rights on Friday confirmed.
The CDH did not address any of the complaints during the hearing in Geneva, Switzerland, which means that the Albanians can continue in power until 2028.
Albanian, the United Nations Special Rapporteur for the occupied Palestinian territories, was condemned by Jewish groups, Israel, the WE,, CanadaFrance, Germany and others.
The legislators of the United States, France, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, and American Jewish groups, have spoken against his appointment in recent weeks.
Albanese opponents argue that its conduct should disqualify it of the position which, according to the CDH, requires impartiality, integrity and objectivity. Albanese described criticism of a defamation campaign, and his supporters considered her a frank champion for the Palestinians.
Albanese, Italian lawyer, is a scholar at the University of Georgetown and former member of the staff of the United Nations and Work Rescue Agency (UNRWA) for the Palestinians, who himself was accused by Israel of having pushed anti-Israeli stories and hosting terrorist agents as employees.

She was appointed to her CDNA post in April 2022. Her opponents published a series of complaints against her before a CDH session on Friday, scheduled to approve reports, which are mainly appointed to three years.
After the complaints, the CDNC said that Albanian was in a minority of rapporteurs who have a specific mandate in the country instead of a “thematic” mandate. The two groups are limited to six years in power, but that the mandate of thematic mandate holders is separated into two three-year terms, there is not such a provision for country mandates, said a spokesperson.
“It can serve as a special rapporteur until April 30, 2028,” a spokesperson for the CDNC told Israel Times.

The provisions of the United Nations say that the President of the Human Rights Council must transmit information to the Council on the non-compliance of United Nations regulations in the United States which are brought to his attention by the States or a coordination committee, in particular before the renewal of mandate holders. These regulations require investigators to act with impartiality.
The United Nations Coordination Committee for Special Procedures rejected complaints against Albanese at the end of last month, according to a document shared by the UN Watch, a non -profit campaign against the Albanese which filed complaints against it with the CDH. There was no discussion on his position during the Friday session, and other rapporteurs were approved without any debate.
Albanese criticisms struck the CDH for rejected complaints against it on Friday.
“The renewal of the mandate of Francesca Albanese is a shame and a moral spot at the United Nations,” said Danny Danon, an ambassador of Israel to the United Nations. “Albanian is a notorious anti -Semitic which has repeatedly expressed not only biased opinions against Israel, but also a hateful rhetoric targeting the Jewish people as a whole.”

Anne Bayefsky, director of the Touro Institute on Human Rights in New York and president of the human rights defense group, called on the United States to stop funding the office of the High Commissioner of the United Nations Human Rights.
“Today, the United Nations Human Rights Council has exposed the dark side of its anti-Israeli and anti-Jewish operation so that the world can see it,” she said. “The 47 members could have removed it – in accordance with the principles and declared rules of the UN – and yet no state has taken a look, including EU states like Germany.”
The Albanian said that the “Jewish lobby” controlled the United States, compared on several Israeli times to the Nazis, rejected anti-Semitic motivations for the October 7 attack on Hamas against Israel, blamed Israel for the invasion, rejected Israeli security problems, condemned the murder of Israel of Israel of the Defense of the Terror Self-Sinwar and right Israel.
US officials, under both Biden And Trump’s administrations said she was unfit for her role. The American mission to the UN said on Wednesday that it had sent a letter to the United Nations Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, competing for the Mandate of Albanians. The House of Foreign Affairs House required last week that the Human Rights Council rejects its appointment. Former American anti -Semitism envoy, Deborah Lipstadt, described the driving of Albanese anti -Semitic And “unacceptable” and said Guterres called Albanese a “horrible person”. The general meeting oversees the CDH and its budget.
The United States is the main donor of the United Nations Office of the High Human Rights Commissioner, who oversees the Albanian office, contributing more than $ 36 million last year.
Albanese’s latest report, entitled “Anatomy of A Genocide”, accused Israel of having carried out a “colonial process of long -standing settlers” and has included any investigation into Hamas.
The defenders of Israel maintain that Albanese’s position is part of a broader anti-Israeli bias in the UN. In addition to the Albanian’s mandate, an open investigation commission separated from the CDH is devoted to the investigation into Israel. This commission is also severely critical of Israel, and one of its members made anti -Semitic statements. The General Assembly and the CDH condemn Israel more than any other country.
