THE UNITED KINGDOM And France Abandon the previous plans to recognize a Palestinian state at a next conference, according to diplomats.

France had put pressure on the United Kingdom and other European allies to recognize a Palestinian state at the New York Conference, which should be held between June 17 and 20.

President Emmanuel Macron had described this decision as “a moral duty and a political requirement”, suggesting that this could be in exchange for Saudi Arabia recognizing Israel during the conference.

However, the Guardian reported that French officials had informed their Israeli counterparts this week that the conference would not be the time of recognition.

Instead, he will now focus on the recognition stages, subject to a series of Palestinian measures and concessions.

These will include a permanent cease-fire in Gaza, the release of Israeli captives, the reform of the Palestinian authority, economic reconstruction and the end of the domination of Hamas in Gaza.

French Minister for Foreign Affairs, Jean-Noel Barrot, said on Friday grateful A Palestinian State of the Conference would have been a “symbolic” decision and declared that they had a “particular responsibility” as a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council so as not to do so without the support of the Allies.

Kenneth Roth, former executive director of Human Rights Watch, expressed his concerns that the recognition of a Palestinian state could end up being indefinitely delayed by the announced stages.

“These steps should not be an endless (non -existent)” peace process “but pressure on Israel to stop obstructing a state”, it wrote On X (formerly Twitter).

Although 147 countries recognize the state of Palestine, a large part of Europe has been reluctant and has long declared that such a decision could only be with the approval of Israel and the reciprocal movements of the Arab states.

Ireland, Spain and Norway recognized a Palestinian state last year, and there was an increasing consensus according to which recognition should come unilaterally as a means of putting pressure on Israel to change punch.

Last week, Israeli diplomat Alon Pinkas Tell the Middle East Eye This pressure from France to recognize Palestine was “serious and has the support of the majority of the European Union and Saudi Arabia”.

However, the United Kingdom and France faced the pressure of the United States on the plans, while Israel has said He would extend his colonies to the occupied West Bank in response.

The Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said that plans to build 22 other colonies on occupied territory were “a strategic decision that prevents the creation of a Palestinian state”.

In July of last year, the Israeli parliament voted overwhelmingly Oppose the establishment of a Palestinian state, only the Palestinian legislators and a single left -wing Jewish deputy voting in support.

Pinkas told me that although there is no significant domestic support in Israel or in the Parliament for the Palestinian State, the field of the international community in Israel during the end of the war should be that “We are your friends, we want you to succeed, it cannot continue … Netanyahu leads you to lead to a non -miracted and irreparable disaster. We are not here to help help.

The War of Israel against Gaza Started after the attacks led by Hamas on October 7, 2023 against southern Israel, killed around 1,200 people. Israel replied by beating the Gaza Strip and invading it.

More than 54,000 people, mainly women and children, were killed in Israeli attacks, and the population is confronted with an “imminent famine”, says the United Nations.
