The Minister of Foreign Affairs, David Lammy – a long -standing supporter to stay in the block – challenged this point of view in an interview with the Italian newspaper La Repubblica, speaking rather than the negotiation of Great Britain.
“We are faced with a significant change in the operation of the global trade system, but that has nothing to do with Brexit,” said Lammy. “We have worked intensively in recent weeks on negotiations for a broader economic agreement with the United States, and these negotiations will continue.”
The comments of the Minister of Foreign Affairs disagreed him with the chief secretary of the Treasury Darren Jones, who declared Sunday when he was questioned by Sky News that the lower rates represented an advantage of Brexit. “This is the case, there is one,” said the former activist at Sky News on Sunday. “I had a hard time finding one in the past, but there is one with whom we are finished.”
So far, the British government has excluded to impose prices for reprisals against the United States and continues to put pressure on a trade agreement that could soften Trump’s samples. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Keir Starmer has announced measures to try to consolidate the fragile automotive industry of Great Britain, which depends strongly on exports to the United States
