The Trump administration triggers three national security council officials

The Trump administration has drawn at least three officials from the National Security Council, with more expected layoffs, according to the American partner of the BBC, CBS News.

It is not clear why staff members have been withdrawn from their roles, but CBS reports that the decision followed a meeting between far -right activist Laura Loomer and President Donald Trump in the White House on Wednesday.

Loomer urged Trump to dismiss specific employees of the NSC that she did not consider sufficiently favorable to the agenda of the president, according to several American media reports.

The White House told the BBC that the National Security Council “will not comment on the staff”.

The layoffs also follow a major controversy involving the NSC last month when senior officials inadvertently added a journalist to a signal messaging thread on military strikes in Yemen.

It is not clear if controversy played a role in layoffs. Trump supported the officials involved in the incident, including National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, who added the journalist to the accidentally reported cat.

Defense secretary, Pete Hegseth, who has published information in the cat, is now the subject of an internal examination on his use of the signal and if he respected the policies of his department, the Pentagon office of the acting inspector general said on Thursday.

NSC licensed people Thursday include Brian Walsh, intelligence director; Thomas Boodry, Senior Director of Legislative Affairs; And David Feith, a principal director supervising technology and national security, according to CBS News.

In a statement to the American media, Loomer said that she would no longer disclose details on his meeting with Trump “out of respect for President Trump and the intimacy of the oval office”.

“It was an honor to meet President Trump and present my conclusions to him, I will continue to work hard to support his agenda, and I will continue to repeat the importance of a strong verification, to protect the president and our national security,” she said.
