The Ministry of Energy announced today that it would recover $ 3.7 billion from awards under Biden administration for clean energy and manufacturing. Large companies and increasing startups have been made in the decision.

Energy Secretary Chris Wright said the movements were “reasonable diligence” from the Trump administration. His declaration did not mention specific reasons for which the projects were canceled, but underlined a memorandum He published on May 15, which suggests that the ministry could try to use his audit powers to cancel prices.

In total, 24 projects are affected by the move, including those developed by the Exxon Mobil oil and gas giant, the manufacturer of food products Kraft Heinz, the industrial heat startup, the Skyven, the cement and the startup startup and the sublime Sublime Startup systems.

Here is a sample of some of the prices in danger:

  • American Cast Iron Pipe Company (Metal Manufacturing): $ 75 million
  • Brimstone Energy (low carbon materials): $ 189 million
  • Calpine’s Baytown Energy Center (natural gas power plant): $ 270 million
  • Calpine’s Sutter Energy Center (natural gas power plant): $ 270 million
  • The Eastman COMPANY LongVIEW factory (Molecular plastic recycling): $ 375 million
  • The Baytown OlĂ©fins factory by Exxon Mobil (chemical factory): 331.9 million dollars
  • Skyven Technologies (generation of heat pump steam): $ 15.3 million
  • Sublime systems (low carbon cement): $ 86.9 million

Sublime told Techcrunch that he had been caught off guard.

“Sublime was surprised and disappointed to receive news from the end of our industrial demonstration program prize, taking into account the clear progress that we have made in the scale of our American invented technology, in partnership with some of the largest cement producers in the Western world and generating a bankable clientele,” said spokesman Rob Kreis by email. The startup assesses its options to continue to increase its operations.

Brimstone hopes things can be resolved with the DOE.

“Given the strong alignment of our project with the priority of President Trump to increase American production of critical minerals, we think it was a misunderstanding.

“As the first alumina factory based in the United States in a generation, our project-which would also make Portland cement-would erase a” mine on metal “route for American aluminum production, strengthening the American critical mineral supply chain and creating thousands of jobs,” she added.
