Basel: The pair of women’s double female in doubles by Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand entered the quarter -final of the Swiss Open badminton championship with a victory in a straight match on Amelie Lehmann German and Selin Hubsch.
The Indian pair won fairly easily with the reading score 21-12 21-8. In the second round in simple male, Toma Popov beat Priyanshu Rajawat from India 21-15 21-17 in 47 minutes. Rajwat had previously beaten the local player Tobias Kuenzi in the consecutive matches in the first round.
Kidambi Srikanth, who reached the second round by beating the compatriot HS Prannoy, but slowly went to the Chinese world no 6 Li Shi Feng 15-21 11-21 in less than 40 minutes.
