A community in southern Florida is in mourning the death of a 15-year-old water polo player who died unexpectedly during a tournament in Miami on Friday afternoon.
The death of the student of the Belen Jesuit preparatory school, Lucas Osuna, was confirmed by the school and his family, although many of the details of the tragedy remain uncertain, publicly.
The cause of death is not known and it is not clear if Osuna was in competition at the time of the incident.
Parents, referees and Everglades ransom help have rescue measurements to try to save Lucas, according to a press release from his Water-Polo team, the Miami Whitecaps.

Lucas’ father, Mike, confirmed the heartbreaking news on Saturday, writing on Facebook: “It is with a heavy heart that we share the unfathomable loss of our beloved son, Lucas Michael Osuna aka Thor.
“In the manner of superheroes, he embodied perseverance, determination and overcomes all the obstacles that life has thrown its way. In moments of tragedy, our 8n family turned out to unite in prayer, compassion, faith and especially love.
“We ask you to take a moment to kiss your loved ones a little more and keep us in your thoughts.
The loss of Lucas is felt far beyond the Osuna family.
Even the mayor of Miami, Francis Suarez – a friend of Mike – offered his condolences online.
“Our hearts are heavy while we mourn the tragic death of Lucas Osuna, a beloved student from the Belen Jesuit PREPARATORY SCHOOL, class of 2027,” wrote Suarez online. “Lucas was the eldest son of my dear friend Mike, whom I have known for years in our training in time at Coconut Grove. My heart breaks for him and his family.
“For the whole Belen community, and especially for Lucas’ family and friends, know that Miami is with you during this unimaginable loss.
Many of these friends remembered Lucas for his sweet nature on Sunday.
