Luka Dončić apparently entered the Dallas Mavericks star on Saturday for the next decade. Anthony Davis entered on Saturday as LeBron James co-star while the Los Angeles Lakers dreamed of another championship.
At the end of the day, or at the beginning of the next day for those who on the east coast, everything had changed. No one was ready, not even the best NBA players. They could have been those who were especially shocked.
At 12:12 p.m. on Sunday or 9:12 a.m. on Saturday, the Shams Charania d’Espn published one of the most surprising tweets of a career built on the breakdown of the biggest NBA stories: a trade with three teams, focused on an exchange of Dončić and Davis.
It was so incredible that Charania felt the need to include the words “yes, it’s real”, in a follow -up tweet.
Yes, it’s real. Sources Tell Espn: Trade complex:
– Lakers: Luka Doncic, Maxi Kleber, Markieff Morris
– Mavericks: Anthony Davis, Max Christie, 2029 LAL 1st
– Jazz: Jalen Hood-Schifino, 2025 Clippers 2nd, 2025 Mavericks 2nd https://t.co/bltojdtaqj
– Shams Charania (@shamscharania) February 2, 2025
Dončić and Davis would have all had no idea that the trade would arrive, and LeBron James, whose reputation of GM of the Lakers did not go. In his first public reaction to this decision, James forcefully denied a report which he had become frustrated by Davis.
Some people still thought that Charania was hacked, but journalists of the two Los Angeles Times And Dallas Morning News confirmed it on their side. It happened, and it made even less sense than you normally see the NBA.
Some NBA players needed the internet to repeat themselves.
Some speculated what many said, that an insidious hacker had taken up the account of Charania and displayed the most disturbed but slightly credible trade in which they could think.
I can no longer say what is real and false on these applications. Luka really goes to the Lakers or Nah?

And some were simply shocked.
Trade becomes particularly incredible when you see it on the side of Dallas. The Mavericks had a 25 -year -old who had made all the first NBA teams since his recruit year. He was the face of the franchise and the future of the franchise. He had his problems with the packaging, but just made his first NBA final.
Dallas fans believed in Dončić, including the quarter of the Kansas City Chiefs, Patrick Mahomes, native of Texas eight days by playing in the Super Bowl. He was not happy.
As for Dirk Nowitzki, the fame of fame that Dončić replaced as a centerpiece of the Mavericks, he had only one emoji to share.
Elsewhere, the reception of Dallas’s huge bet was not … not positive.
I have never seen so many team leaders not involved in this amazed business.

Luka went for less than Mikal Bridges

Imagine the phone call
Mavs- “We want an ad”
LAKERS – “Not available”
Mavs- “for Luka”
Lakers- “The announcement will be there in the morning”

the most unexpected and the most stupid I have ever seen in my entire career

I still don’t understand why they wouldn’t buy it.

I have been covering the NBA for 37 years. Almost nothing that happens – the offers, the signatures of the free agents, the hires of coach / shooting – rises at the level, as the great Ben Bradlee called them stories “Saint S – T”. You just get used to the unexpected.
It is a “Saint S – T” trade.– David Aldridge (@davidaldridGedc) February 2, 2025
Imagine Nico Harrison, looking at the whole world of basketball, thinking that Shams was hacked rather than believing that you really have this business

Was the Mavs Front Office replaced by Skrulls?

Would Mark Cuban have exchanged Luka?

We no longer care about Jimmy Butler’s trade. The heat can go ahead and give it up. We are talking about this business for the next 48 months.
