The current Toyota supra is already going out with the Final edition Marking the end of six-year production of the MK5 in the United States. It was fun while it lasted. But don’t expect the Supra name to be out of the Toyota range for a long time.
In a recent interview with EngineToyota suggested that a new supra will happen. Better still, this new one should not take as much time to arrive on the market as the MK5. Hopefully.

“It would be logical if we have a new generation supra. But when and how TBD is still,” said the main vice-president of planning and product strategy for Toyota Motor North America, Cooper Ericksen. “There will certainly be a gap. The question is how much this gap will be great … It is our goal of having a gap which is much less (than the last).”
For fear of forgetting, the MK4 SUPRA ended production in the United States in 1998, which means that it took 21 years in Toyota to relaunch the name SUPRA in the United States. Fortunately, Toyota promises that we will not have to wait two decades for the next one.
Unfortunately, this does not necessarily mean that we will see a new supra next year – or even the following year. Ericksen noted that Toyota still has his “complete hands” producing basic products like the last RAV4 and the always popular Camry, among others.
It is not difficult to know if the next supra will be a project developed jointly like the current one, which Toyota produced alongside BMW Z4.
“A product like Supra, it has come to a point where we now have a final edition, and the reason is that it is simply not profitable with all the new regulations and investments that we must make,” noted Erickson. “He must be a new house. When we can build the new house, that’s the question.”
We will just have to wait and see.
