The toughest regional in the 2024 DI baseball bracket, according to Michella Chester

Out of 64 teams, only eight will qualify for the Men’s College World Series in Omaha. Michella Chester has made her choice to see who will have the toughest journey there.

She said teams at the Stillwater Regional (hosted by Oklahoma State) can expect the most daunting road ahead before the CWS.

Oklahoma State will host Nebraska as a No. 2 seed, Florida as a No. 3 seed and Niagara in fourth place – all teams that could come out on top.

The Huskers recently made waves by winning the 2024 Big10 tournament title. Josh Caron’s bat (16 home runs) and Brett Sears’ performance on the mound (97 strikeouts) provided Nebraska with some very good pieces.

Then there’s Florida – a team that, on the surface, couldn’t have made the tournament on its own, but has found a secret weapon in first baseman Jac Caglianone. Caglianone recently earned a spot on the 2024 All-SEC First Team roster and with 29 home runs, he could be the spark the Gators need to win with everything on the line.

Also worth mentioning are Oklahoma State’s Nolan Schanuel’s 20 home runs and Eric Rataczak’s 16 as well as his .402 batting average. Stillwater Regional has considerable power.
