The United States Centers for the Control and Prevention of Diseases (CDC) in its Weekly update Today, 42 cases of measles reported, some linked to a large epidemic centered in western Texas and others linked to cases of community transmission or travel to other states or countries, lifting the country’s total to 1,088 infections.
Two other states reported their first cases this week, Iowa and Nebraska, putting the number of jurisdictions assigned to 33 years. The number of epidemics has remained at 14, and 90% of cases are linked to epidemics.
The overwhelming majority of patients (96%) are not vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status, and affected patients are almost uniformly divided between children under the age of 5, school -aged children and adults aged 20 and over.

West Texas Total increases by 9
