Pierce Brosnan only appeared with Robin Williams in a film, but the Irish actor now says that he has not entirely worked with Williams.
“I really never worked with Robin Williams,” recalls Brosnan recently. “I only worked with Ms. Doubtfire.”
The star saw some of his old films in a conversation with Vanity Fair, including her beloved comedy from 1993 “Mme Doubtfire” in which Williams plays a father who pretends to be a nanny in order to spend time with his children after his wife asked for a divorce.
Brosnan played Stuart “Stud” Dunmeyer, a man who begins to go out with the distant wife of the character of Williams, Miranda Willard, played by Sally Field.
“I mean, the very first day I was set up in San Francisco. They said, “Do you want to meet Robin?” I said, “Yes, I would like to meet him.” “Said Brosnan. “And I entered the makeup trailer, and Robin was sitting there in a Hawaiian shirt – and his kind of hair with hair was dragged and her hairy legs – but had the head of Mrs. Doubtfire.”

Brosnan said that Williams teased him with an accent of Mrs. Doubtfire saying: “Oh, Pierce, you are so beautiful. Come here, give us a kiss” before going to the deeper voice of a man and saying: “Hey baby, what’s going on?”
“He jumped everywhere,” said Brosnan.
It was typical of Williams to push the limits, apparently. The star did exactly that in a scene in which her Mme Doubtfire teases the character of Brosnan to want to have sex with Miranda.
“There are trains of sequences of me that somehow fall on the ground with laughter, and he has really turned blue,” said Brosnan, who also called Williams “such a kind man”. “He was really colorful, because the children were not there, and it was just Robin and myself, and he knew he had in the reticle with his humor. I loved the man.”
Williams died 63 years old in 2014.
