At least 17 Tesla cars were destroyed after a fire broke out with a dealership on the outskirts of Rome on Monday morning, according to Italian firefighters. No one was at the dealership when the fire broke out and no injury was reported.
Rome’s fire service said it was investigating “all avenues” while examining how the fire started, but that did not exclude the criminal fire. Local police said police had interviewed dealers’ owners and are considering surveillance images.
The fire comes after a series of reports across Italy in recent weeks of Tesla vehicles being vandalized and degraded, with anti-Elon feelings and anti-Donald Trump feelings written with aerosol painting.
Another car dealer burned in northern Rome a week ago, destroying 30 cars, including used Teslas. This fire was initially blamed for an electric flaw, but an investigation is underway.
Still in Rome, several teslas in the Garbatella district, where Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni grew up, were degraded, according to police and social media publications. Meloni and Musk are self-written friends, but the Italian chief did not comment on vandalism. Milan Tesla dealers have also been targeted by environmental groups in recent weeks.
Reports on Tesla vandalism have also surfaced in France and various parts of the United States, including the North West Pacific and the North East.
Pacific demonstrations have taken place in several Tesla locations in the United States, where the demonstrators sang “Elon Musk had to go” in response to the reduction of federal jobs by the Ministry of Efficiency of the Musk Government.
