The former NFL star, Shannon Sharpe, was accused of several cases of assault, sexual assault, battery and sexual drums in a trial deposited on Sunday by an anonymous woman and her lawyers.
Sharpe’s legal representatives described the trial as an attempt to “shake” the popular podcaster for millions of dollars and said that he “categorically denies all allegations of coercion or fault”.
In the prosecution filed before a district court in Las Vegas, “Jane Doe” accuses the popular host of the Podcast “Club Shay Shay” of “manipulating and controlling” the applicant for a period of almost two years which started in 2023 as a consensual relationship when the woman was 20 years old.
The civilian complaint alleges Sharpe, 56, “violently sexually assaulted and raped anal”, in October 2024 and again in January of this year in Las Vegas, Nevada, “ignoring flagrant his requests to stop”.
The trial declares: “After several months of manipulation and control of the applicant – a woman more than thirty years younger than him – and threatening several times to suffocate suddenly and to slap it violently, Sharpe refused to accept the response no and raped the complainant, despite her bloody and repeated cries of` “ ”.
When asked if Jane Doe had contacted the police during or after the alleged assaults, the lawyer of the complainants, Tony Buzbee, said that he could not comment.
The lawyer told CNN: “It takes a lot of courage to oppose those who have power, fame and money. I can’t wait to press this case in court. ”
Sharpe’s lawyer, Lanny J. Davis, said that the woman was trying to sing her client and that the pair relationship was consensual and “sexual nature – and, in many cases, initiated by her with specific and graphic requests”.
Davis said that Sharpe “is impatiently awaiting justification through regular procedure and a judgment based on facts and law”.
The complaint requires compensatory and punitive damages of more than $ 50 million.
