Warner Bros. TV is in the early stages of developing a television series based on the hit Warner Bros. action film. from 2006. 300, sources tell Deadline. Storyline or plot details are not known, but it is believed to be a prequel to the film.
Deals aren’t finalized yet, but sources say the project envisions Zack Snyder and Deborah Snyder reuniting with the group. 300 production team consisting of Gianni Nunnari, Mark Canton and Bernie Goldmann, as well as Wesley Coller of Stone Quarry, the Snyders’ production company. No writers or platforms are currently attached.
Warner Bros. Television declined to comment.
The film, co-written and directed by Zack Snyder, was a smash hit that gained attention for its visuals.
Based on the 1998 comic book series of the same name by Frank Miller and Lynn Varley, the film is a fictionalized version of the Battle of Thermopylae in the Greco-Persian Wars. It stars Gerard Butler as King Leonidas, who leads 300 Spartans into battle against the invading Persian “God-King” Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro) and his army of over 300,000 men.
