A 17 -year -old with a busy hunting rifle rose aboard a flight after breaking the safety of the airport, police said in Australia.

The incident occurred Thursday at Avalon Airport, near Melbourne, who has flights operated by the budget carrier belonging to Qantas Jetstar.

Victoria police said the teenager had been arrested by the crew and the flight passengers. The police also located two bags and a vehicle belonging to the suspect.

The images obtained by Australia ABC News have shown it bearing a jacket with a large visit similar to the crew on the airport soil and being maintained in the cabin.

The diffuser reported that Superintendent Michael Reid said that the teenager had acted alone and entered the airport through a hole in a safety fence.

Reid said that the teenager then headed for the plane, but was mastered by several passengers after boarding.

Barry Clark, a passenger on the flight, told ABC Radio Melbourne that he had noticed the 17 -year -old when he was questioned by a on -board agent.

“He was dressed as a worker and he agitated himself and before we know it, there was a pistol – a hunting rifle appeared – and I was worried that there was any blows so that everything I could do was to remove the pistol, throw it in the stairs … and put it on hold and throw it on the ground until the police came,” said Clark.

Asked about what was going on in his mind when he approached the young man, Clark said: “You don’t think, you act.”

Reid also told journalists: “There is no doubt that it would have been a very terrifying incident for the passengers of this plane and the Victoria police really congratulate the bravery of the passengers who were able to master this man.”

A Jetstar representative told Business Insider that the airline was working with police and airport authorities to investigate the incident.

“The security of our passengers and our crew is our number one priority and we can confirm that there has been no reported injury,” they said.

“We know that it would have been a very painful situation and we are sincerely grateful to customers who helped our crew manage the situation safely.”
