Today should have been the second start of the regular season by Spencer Strider and his first departure at Truist Park in just over a full year. Instead, Strider ended up going back directly to the shelf after a single start when he injured Catch. It is extremely unhappy, but it is also a sport where we have seen players injure themselves outside the matches in some of the strangest and most eccentric ways.
The good news is that we now have an update on the severity of the injury to Strider and fortunately, it does not seem to have been as bad as possible. Mark Bowman of MLB.com was the first to point out that Strider has a strain of the hamstrings of grade 1.
Strider has a strain of the hamstrings of grade 1. It is the sweetest of the strains, but it will still take time to heal. A return calendar will be determined over the next two weeks.

With the warning that it is a strain of grade 1, the obvious hope is that it will be able to get back into action in a few weeks. As Bowman’s tweet has mentioned, we will not know with certainty what is his recovery calendar – especially since the stumps of the hamstrings are still quite delicate. However, it is certainly better than what he could have been and at this stage, the brave will take everything that even looks like a victory with regard to injuries.
They have been incredibly rough when it comes to injuries since the start of the 2024 season and although it was another horrible chance, things could certainly have been worse than the way they took place. All that the brave of Atlanta and Strident can do now is to be patient, wait for healing and, hope it, get a starde to switch and roll for real Once it is entirely healthy.
