In the wake of President Trump who sparked a new series of prices that sent markets in a steep drop, a group of stars pushed the Winter Garden Theater in the center of Manhattan to see a room that lionizes the press, aims for right -wing politicians and presents actors speaking of the way they wake up in the morning unable to recognize the world around them.
Rachel Maddow and Lawrence O’Donnell of MSNBC were on the right side of the theater, a few rows behind Gayle King of CBS. Uma Thurman and Kylie Minogue hovered nearby.
Even Jennifer Lopez was in the house, although it is not really a surprise. The co-series and star of the play she was about to see was George Clooney, who appeared alongside Mrs. Lopez in the Caper de Steven Soderbergh in 1998 “Out of sight”.
The play, “Good Night and Good Luck”, is an adaptation of the 2005 film that Mr. Clooney made and which took place in the 1950s at the height of red fear.
He tells the story of Edward R. Murrow, the Anchorman CBS of CBS who used his platform to help the fall of Senator Joseph R. McCarthy and put an end to a government campaign against the alleged American communists.
