The star of `Family Ties ”, Brian Bonsall, discusses the 2007 assault on his girlfriend

Family ties Star Brian Bonsall has returned a dark chapter of his past for “Child Stars Gone violent”, the latest episode of the new documentation of the Discovery investigation, Hollywood demonswhich will be presented on Monday.

Bonsall was thrown for the first time in the successful NBC sitcom when he was only four years old, appearing as the youngest member of the Keaton clan alongside Michael J. Fox from 1986 to 1989. He explained that he had started to use and then abuses drugs and alcohol after his mother uprooted him with Hollywood for Colorado in the mid -90s.

“In the twenties, I came out and I met a girl in a bar. We loved each other, but that turns into a toxic situation. We were two drunk and drunk punkers trying to surpass themselves and being wasted all the time. It was almost a competition from who can be crazy and get drunk and do wild stuff,” he said. Then, “one night, our alcohol consumption had become uncontrollable.”

Bonsall was arrested in Boulder, Colorado, in 2007 after his girlfriend reported that he had attacked her. He ended up facing accusations of assault in the second degree and false imprisonment.

In a call from 911 played in the episode, the then Bonsall said to The Dispatcher: “My boyfriend will not let me leave the house.” She then said that Bonsall “had poured whiskey in my eyes while I was sleeping.” Bonsall could be heard in the background saying that she had cut her face with a knife, which she denied.

The memory of BonsAll is “super blurred, but I remember holding my arms, taking a phone. I did one of the worst things you can do, I tried to block the door. I said to myself:” I love you, don’t do that. “At this point, you think you do something to defuse it, but you block the door.”

THE Family ties Star escaped the police for more than a year after the arrest, but was finally arrested a second time in 2009 after having physically attacked a friend. After being tested positive for marijuana in detention and pleading guilty to the threat of original crime and accusations of assault in the third degree, Bonsall was sentenced to two years of probation.

Bonsall says that he “has absolutely not” poured whiskey into the eyes of his girlfriend, but confirmed that they “both went to a detoxification cure and remained sober. At that time, we realized that we were not good for each other and that we broke.”

Bonsall played in a series of films made for television after his time on Family ties.
