The stage of final credits ‘Thunderbolts *’ explained: what happens

Warning: major spoilers before “Thunderbolts *”.

If you are heading for the theater to watch “Thunderbolts *” by Marvel this weekend, you will want to stay until the end after all the credits have rolled.

“Thunderbolts *” brings together a dysfunctional group of characters previously introduced in other movies and TV shows Marvel: Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), Alexei Shostakov / Red Guardian (David Harbor), Ava Starr / Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen), John Walker / Us Agent (Wyatt Russell) and Antonia Dreykov / Taskmaster (Olga Kurylenko).

After entering a death trap set by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus)Ragtag Minus Taskmaster’s crew, which is killed by Ghost, shortly escapes. Then, they embarked on a mission to save Bob (Lewis Pullman), a man who obtained unrivaled powers due to an experimental laboratory procedure called Project Sentry. While his own inner darkness, known as the Vacuum, tries to take over, the Thunderbolts support Bob and remind him that he is not alone.

Once the Thunderbolts have prevented Bob from succumbing to the void, they try to continue Val, who has another lap in his sleeve.

In the final scene, Val leads the group in a press conference, where she claims that she has been working behind the scenes for years to develop a new type of protection: The New Avengers, alias the Thunderbolts Crew – Hence the reason why the title of the film contains an asterisk at the end.

Participants applaud and applaud, while Thunderbolts seem confused. Then Yelena murmurs in Val, “We have you now.”

The film ends with a close -up of Yelena smiling, and the theme of Avengers can be heard played weakly.

Once the main credits displayed, the Thunderbolts * logo goes to “The New Avengers” in a daring yellow font, inaugurating a new era of the Marvel cinematographic universe.

The Mid-Credits scene presents Alexei Shostakov / Red Guardian enjoying his fame

At the start of the film, Alexei told his adoptive daughter Yelena that he was really happy when he served his country, saving people and adored like a God.

The Mi-Crédits scene is a playful extension of this, showing its joy of being part of the reworked Avengers.

In the scene, Alexei approaches a mother who is in the aisle of the cereals of a grocery store.

“Wow, so many choices,” says Alexei before highlighting the wheat boxes featuring the new Avengers on the packaging.

“It’s me on the box,” he said.

The woman, who is not interested in buying the cereals, takes the box of Alexei anyway, pushes her basket and leaves the product on a shelf before rushing.

The scene ends, and “nothing will stop us now” by Starship plays as a complete report of the film.

The stage of final credits teases the arrival of the fantastic four

The final of the final credits takes place 14 months later, with the Thunderbolts to what seems to be their new headquarters. They mainly speak of the way Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie), who took over Captain America’s coat with the blessing of Steve Rogers (Chris Evans), filed a copyright for the Avengers.

Yelena says she is confused because if Sam assembles her own version of the Avengers, but the Thunderbolts are the new Avengers team, which are the real Avengers?

Alexei then offers a bypass solution – called the Avengerz – to avoid being prosecuted. He shows the team a new colorful but sticky superhero costume which, according to him, is as smooth as a baby seal.

Yelena mentions a “huge spatial crisis”, and Bob, who chose to keep her powers at a distance to prevent another disaster, reads a book in the corner of the room.

“I did the dishes, however,” said Bob, reminding them that he is always used.

They are interrupted by a beep alert indicating that an unidentified plane enters orbit. Then the team looks at a massive screen and sees an extra -dimensional ship flying in space with number 4 on it – alias the Fantastic Four. The main theme song of “Fantastic Four: First Steps” by Michael Giacchino also plays.

The scene ends with text that is read as follows: “The new Avengers and Bob will come back.”

The scene also sets up “Avengers: Doomsday”

The stage of the final credits of “Thunderbolts *” does not really innovate, but it is slightly more satisfactory than the scene presented at the end of “Captain America: Brave New World”.

While the MCU has developed with a mixture of movies and television programs, a connective tissue failed. Now, while Marvel Studios has reduced its volume of projects, it is much easier to see the direction in which the vast universe is heading.

The final of the final credits directly puts the next and last film MCU which will be released this year, the restart of “Fantastic Four“Putting Pedro Pascal Like Reed Richards / MR. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby Like Sue Storm / Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn Like Johnny Storm / Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach Like Ben Grimm / The Thing.

This also indicates that Marvel’s first family is entering the main chronology of the MCU. The conversation of the Thunderbolts * team on which obtains the title of the Avengers is a subtle way of referring to who will be part of the next major team film: Avengers: Doomsday.

The film is expected to be released on May 1, 2026 and the stars referring the superstar of Marvel Robert Downey Jr., abandoning his Iron Man costume to play the emblematic villain Victor von Doom / Doctor Doom.

Marvel recently revealed the partial list of distribution members joining Downey via a five -hour live. Among them, the stars of “Thunderbolts *” Sebastian Stan, Wyatt Russell, Florence Pugh, Lewis Pullman, David Harbor and Hannah John-Kamen.

Another overall film, “Avengers: Secret Wars”, will be released on May 7, 2027. The two films “Avengers”, which are part of the Multifheater saga, will be co -edited by the duo Sibling Joe and Anthony Russo.

“Thunderbolts *” now plays in theaters.
