Kim Sae-Ron was found dead at home in February at 24 years, almost two years after her retirement from public view following a drunk conviction which caused heavy public backlash and reputation damage.

The allegations made by the YouTube channel, known for having covered new politicians, launched an online fire storm against Kim Soo Hyun despite his refusals. His talent agency previously said that if the two actors had been in a relationship, it had taken place when the two were adults, according to the Chosun Ilbo, one of the newspapers of the South Korea disc.

The benefits for the actor were rapid, with the Prada luxury fashion house and the popular Korean brand of Dinto cosmetics both ending their collaborations with Kim Soo Hyun in the weeks that followed the scandal. Kim Soo Hyun also said that many text messages that had been distributed online, allegedly between him and Kim Sae-Ron, were wrong.
