The son of Manchester United A Great joined Havant and Waterlooville for the rest of the season.
The son of Rio Ferdinand’s goalkeeper, Lorenz, is in Brighton’s books, but will now pass the rest of the campaign with the Hawks.
The seventh level team takes place in the Southern League First Division South, where they are sixth in the table.
A club statement said: “ The Habs football club and Waterlooville is delighted to announce that goalkeeper Lorenz Ferdinand joined the work experience of the Premier League Brighton & Hove Albion for the rest of the season!
“Ferdinand, 18, went through the configuration of Brighton & Hove Albion where he now continues to refine his profession in the configuration of their under 21s.
“Lorenz connects with the Shaun North team for running in while the push towards the end of the season continues!”

“We welcome Lorenz to the Hawks and look forward to seeing him very soon in action.
Speaking after the announcement, Ferdinand Jr said: “It was really good. Everyone made me really feel welcome.
“It is a big club of what I have seen so far. It’s good to be in and around the boys.
Ferdinand Sr has five children and Lorenz, 18, is the eldest of them.
He signed a management agreement with the New Era Global Sports agency in 2023 and his father posted on this subject on Instagram.
“Our elder is on his own trip to football,” he wrote. “Another good time of signature with @Neweraglobalsports, well won thanks to hard work and dedication.
“It is a long road full of ups and downs, so right and professional support is required – so move forward @Neweraglobalsports. I love you Lorenz.
He made an appearance for the Seagulls in PL2 this season, playing four minutes in a 4-2 victory against Southampton and letting a goal in this period.
