Riverside, California (AP) – The Sheriff of the County of Riverside, Chad Bianco, said on Monday that he presented himself to the post of governor of California in 2026, becoming the first great republican to announce an offer for an election to nearly two years.
BIANCO, a French-speaking supporter of President Donald Trump and his policies, was elected Sheriff elected for the first time in 2018 and has been in the application of laws for more than 30 years. He joins an increasing number of candidates who seek to replace Governor Gavin Newsom while the GOP has trouble presenting a serious candidate on the level of the State.
During his announcement of campaign in the city center of Riverside, Bianco criticized the democratic policies which, according to him, led to the crisis of the homeless in the streets of the city and to the problems of accessibility to the housing of the state.
“It is only our elected democrats who are responsible for the decline of California,” he said. “What did they give us?” Creaming crime, higher taxes, the highest cost of life in our country, tent camps in each big city, more fentanyl deaths, catastrophic fires, a broken home insurance market and the people of Our state is struggling to afford grocery store and gas. The Californians deserve better.
Bianco, a curator of the law and the order, said that his campaign would not focus on the gap between the Republicans and the Democrats, but on a common goal of having “a better California”.
“We are going to take our mental health restoration message in every corner of our good condition,” he said.
Democratic candidates understand the former mayor of Los Angeles and president of the Assembly Antonio Villaraigosa, Lieutenant-Governor Eleni Kounalakis, former president of the Senate Pro Toni Atkins, former Betty Yee State controller and Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond. The surveys of the California public policy institute show that the former vice-president Kamala Harris would be in a strong position if she runs, but she did not say what she will do.
The race for the replacement of Newsom, whose limit of the term is exhausted in 2027, will be a free-for-for all democrats to attract the best talent of the party to have the chance to direct the most populous state in the country and The fifth world economy.
