The sequel to the film Red, White and Royal Blue is in preparation on Amazon

Amazon Prime Video returns to the White House for a Red, white and royal blue sequel, with stars Nicholas Galitzine and Taylor Zakhar Perez set to reprise their roles.

Red, white and royal blue was based on the young adult romance of the same name by Casey McQuiston and follows Alex Claremont-Diaz (Perez), a first-time son from the United States, and his romantic relationship with Prince Henry (Galitzine), a British prince. Plot details for the sequel are being kept under wraps.

Matthew López will return to write the screenplay, alongside McQuiston. Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter of Berlanti Schechter Films will return to produce the film, joined by Michael McGrath and López. McQuiston will serve as executive producer.

Red, white and royal blue was popular on Prime Video and received generally positive reviews. The sequel announcement was made tonight at the Culver Theater during a screening of the film, where the cast and filmmakers announced the plans during post-screening Q&As.
