The Senate advances in the vote all night, while the Republicans push through the budgetary plan

Friday, the Senate rushed to a political confrontation on the internal agenda of President Trump, the Democrats planning to force dozens of votes during a night session to protest against the Republicans to deliver “a major bill on expenditure and tax reductions.

The GOP must adopt its budgetary plan to unlock a process called reconciliation, which allows legislators to take over budgetary law through the congress and protect it from an obstacle. Disagreements between the Republicans in the Chamber and the Senate on what should be in this bill paralyzed them for weeks, but they have forged a fragile and complex compromise allowing them to move forward.

“This resolution is the first step towards a final bill to make permanent fiscal reduction that we implemented in 2017 and to provide a transformational investment in our border, our national and energy security,” said Senator John Thune of the South Dakota, the head of the majority.

But in the Senate, members can offer a range of amendments for budgetary measures in a ritual known as “voting-a-rama”, a fast-fire marathon which often extends throughout the night. The proposals will never become the law, but the process allows the minority party to force a series of politically rich votes which can be used against legislators in campaign advertisements later.

Democrats plan to propose changes to the Republicans to weigh on the climbing of the Trump World War, the Elon Musk government’s efficiency department, the proposed Reductions of the GOP in Medicaid and the recent signal use by national security officials in the Trump administration.

“All day long, the Democrats will come to the ground to expose the destruction of the Republican agenda,” Senator Chuck Schumer in New York, the chief of the minority at a press conference in Capitole, said on Friday.
