Oleh Hryhorov, head of local military administration, announced the number of deaths. He reported on social networks that three of the wounded were in serious condition and described the attack as “another war crime by Russia”.
Moscow did not immediately comment on the attack.
On Saturday, Dmitry Peskov, spokesperson for Russian President Vladimir Putin, said that a person in person between the chief of the Kremlin and the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy remains “possible”, but only if certain conditions are fulfilled first. Peskov did not specify these conditions, but he commented on the exchange of prisoners.
“What the delegations agreed yesterday remains to be done. Of course, it is mainly an exchange of 1,000 for 1,000 (prisoners),” he said.
Putin and Zelenskyy have not met since December 2019.
