The Russian commander “ orders the troops to open fire on his own men ‘on appeal – World News – News

A Russian commander would have been heard of his own men to open fire on his own men during an intercepted call.

The Ukrainian Military Intelligence Agency, the main intelligence Directorate (HUR), published the recording on April 5 in which a furious officer is captured by asking: “F *** The 55th, draw them, it is the order of the battalion commander, shoot them.”

This command is apparently born from frustration after their positions were exposed by the 55th unit, another Russian outfit nearby.

Although the authenticity of the audio has not been verified independently by kyiv’s independence, it joins an increasing set of evidence suggesting disorders and an ineffective command in the Russian forces engaged in the conflict with Ukraine.

The ill -treatment stories include intercepted communications and POW accounts highlight questions such as lack of discipline, lack of appropriate training and severe measures such as the use of blocking units to execute deserters or those who withdraw without authorization.

Western officials and military experts qualified Russian military tactics in Ukraine as a “meat crusher” method, consisting in sending continuous waves of under-equipped soldiers and consumables on the front line to break down the Ukrainian defenses. Although this strategy has slowly allowed territorial advances, it has resulted in massive number in human life.

The British Defense Ministry noted in February that the Russian forces probably knew “some of the highest rates of victims since the start of the war”, in the midst of their thrust in areas strongly defended around Avdiivka. The Ukrainian authorities estimated that the number of Russian deaths was in tens of thousands during this period of the offensive, reports the Express.

In March 2025, the British Defense Ministry assessed that around 900,000 Russian soldiers were injured or were killed since the start of the Ukraine invasion by Moscow. The current estimate includes deaths ranging from 200,000 to 250,000, a number meaning the most important losses in Russia since the Second World War.

Despite such heavy victims, Russia continues to exercise a force in a large part of the battle line. In recent months, Russian offensives have led to the takeover of several of the last bastions of Ukraine in the Donbas.

To maintain its aggressive thrust, the Kremlin has more and more based on conscripts, new arrivals formed in haste and even prisoners.

Ukraine captures and regularly shared intercepted communications, revealing cracks within the Russian army. In a single interception, a demoralized Russian soldier was heard to deplore his family, “our own artillery strikes us more than the Ukrainians”.

In December, the Ukraine HUR agency reported, but without confirmation, that the North Korean forces combined with Russia had hired and killed eight Russian soldiers during a confrontation, exhibiting the chaotic situation among the Russian troops.

In addition to their broadcasting on April 5, Hur shared another interception of the Russian Bryansk Oblast. In this recording, a woman is intended to express her support for a strike from Ukrainian drone on Moscow: “So that we can be bombed, but the oblast of Moscow is not? That they are at least a little afraid.”

These interceptions, according to the agency, suggest an escalation of internal dissatisfaction in Russia and widen the rifts to the Warfront.
