More details are flowing about the new AI device by Jony Ive and Sam Altman. In an article on Thursday, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says that his research indicates that the device could be greater than Humane’s AI spindle, but with a “factor of form as compact and elegant as an iPod shuffle”.
Kuo adds that “one of the expected use cases” carries the device around your neck. It may also not be delivered with a display, known as Kuo, with cameras and integrated microphones for “environmental detection”. The device could also connect to smartphones and PCs to use their IT and display capacities.
This last leak lines up with a report of The Wall Street JournalWho says the device will be aware of the life and environment of a user, but will probably not be a pair of glasses. On Wednesday, Altman revealed that Optai buys the AI equipment company from IVE, IO, for $ 6.5 billion, which “will take control of the design for any Openai, including its software”. IVE and Altman aim to launch their first devices in 2026.
