Madhya Pradesh Congress leader Raja Pateria has sparked huge controversy after a video went viral on social media where it was heard that the masses should be ready for the murder of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in order to save the Constitution.

“Be ready to kill Modi”

In the alleged video, top Congress leader Raja Pateria can be seen talking to a small group of people from Pawai town in Panna district.

The viral video shows him saying, “Modi will end the elections. He will divide people in the name of religion, caste and language. The lives of minorities, Dalits and tribes are in danger. If the Constitution is to be saved, then be ready for Modi’s ‘hatya’. »

Later in the same video, Pateria clarifies that the word “hatya” in his term means “defeat”. He added that he was following Mahatma Gandhi’s ideology of non-violence and what he meant was to defeat Prime Minister Modi electorally to protect minorities. He said, “Hatya in the sense of defeating him.

In an interview with India today, Pateria clarified that “it could have happened in the stream”. He claimed the person who recorded the video “just chose it out of context”.

All About Congress Leader Raja Pateria

Raja Pateria is a former MLA, who won the Assembly constituency of Hatta in 1998. He served as Cabinet Minister from 1998 to 2003 in the administration led by Digvijya Singh.

Pateria has challenged Lok Sabha polls since the Khajuraho MP seat in 2014. However, he received 2,27,476 votes and was beaten by BJP’s Narendra Singh. Currently, he is Deputy Chairman of the Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee.

According to his election affidavit, Pateria’s occupation is agriculture. He further stated that he had assets worth more than Rs 5 crore and his degrees were stated as a second year BSc student from Mahakosal Science College, Jabalpur.

BJP leaders demand arrest of Raja Pateria

The big old party, no doubt, is getting a massive backlash for Pateria’s ‘hatya’ remark, with several BJP leaders calling for his arrest. Union Minister Pralhad Joshi slammed the Congress leader for his remarks and called it an “unforgivable crime”.

According NDTV, in a video call, Joshi said: “Even if Raja Pateria declares himself mentally ill, he should not get away with this crime. I call on the government of Madhya Pradesh to take immediate and strict action against him.

BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla tweeted: “Congress leader and former minister Raja Pateria incites people to kill Prime Minister Modi. Also earlier, Congress leaders spoke about the death of Prime Minister Modi (Sheikh Hussain). But now a death threat! After ‘Aukat dikha denge’, ‘Raavan’, here is ‘Pyaar ki Rajniti?’ by Rahul Gandhi. Will they act on him? Nope!”

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan while targeting Rahul Gandhi said, “The true face of those who claim to do a Bharat Jodo Yatra is coming out.”

He called the comments “excessive hate” and said the video exposed the “true sentiment” of Congress. In a video, he said the respected Prime Minister Modi lives in the hearts of the people and is the center of admiration and faith across the country.

“Members of Congress can’t take on the prime minister in the election battle, and a party leader talks about his murder. It is the height of jealousy and excessive hatred. The true sentiment of Congress has been revealed, however, such things will not be tolerated. An FIR (first hand information) is being filed and the law will take its course,” Chouhan said.

FIR in process of registration

Home Minister Narottam Mishra reportedly ordered an FIR against Raja Pateria at Panna Police Station. He said the comment proves that “the current Congress belongs to Italy and that its ideology is that of Mussolini and not that of Mahatma Gandhi”.

A report of India today quoted Mishra as saying, “Such statements show that today’s Congress is not Mahatma Gandhi’s Congress. It is the Congress of Italy which is afflicted with a Mussolinian state of mind.
