North Elba, Ny – Mark Twain would have said that the reports of his death had been very exaggerated, although The quote itself may have been very exaggerated.
We can certainly say the same about the fate of a hiker in New York State.
Two hikers from the New York Adirondack mountains called 911 to point out that a third member of their party died, but it turned out that they had taken hallucinogenic mushrooms and were mistaken, officials announced on Wednesday.
A state -of -the -art forestry responded to a call on Saturday about a hiker who died on Mountain cascade, a popular summit in Adirondack High Peaks, the Ministry of Environment Conservation said in a press release.
The two hikers who called 911 also told a steward on the top of the mountain they had been lost. The intendant “determined that hikers were in an altered mental state”, according to the agency.
The supposedly deceased person called and was not injured.
The Ranger escorted the two hikers to an ambulance, who took them to the hospital and brought the third to the group’s campsite, where they all met later, officials said.
