The remote jobs companies are hiring for most in demand right now

The most popular remote job companies are hiring to transcend technology to include opportunities in real estate, healthcare and even forensics, according to a new study from Indeed.

Although various metrics have shown that the remote work market is shrinking, Indeed reports that the volume of remote job postings on its platform remains high. The job search site saw a 40% increase in remote job postings between March 2023 and March 2024.

Remote posting may be on the decline in some industries, including technology, finance and human resources, but context matters, says Gabrielle Davis, career trends expert at Indeed. Davis points out that this trend may be less a sign of employers changing their minds about remote work and more a reflection of which sectors are most affected by the labor market downturn.

At the same time, “we’re seeing roles that we thought of as traditionally in-person jobs, like document reviewers or forensic analysts, emerging as some of the most in-demand remote positions among employers,” says Davis. CNBC succeeds. “I think we’re going to see more previously in-person jobs transition to hybrid or remote jobs as companies continue to evaluate their operations and business performance.”

Document examiners, who review a wide range of reports, including legal and medical documents for patient records or court cases, are the remote professionals most in demand by businesses today, data shows Indeed shared exclusively with CNBC Make It.

Indeed identified the 10 most in-demand remote jobs among companies currently hiring by analyzing its database for positions that saw the highest volume of remote postings between January and April 2024.
