EFL confirmed that John Brooks was appointed referee of the Carabao Cup final between Liverpool and Newcastle.
Brooks will take care of the Clash at Wembley on Sunday, Eddie Smart and Nick Greenhalgh appointed as his assistants.
Darren England will be the fourth official, with Stuart Attwell and Sian Massey-Ellis as Var and Var Deputy for the match.
Referee Brooks previously took care of a match between Liverpool and Newcastle, Attwell also being the Var.
The Reds became 2-1 winners in St James’ Park in August 2023 despite the reduction of 10 men.
Brooks sent Virgil Van Dijk for the denial of a marking opportunity after the Liverpool captain committed a fault on Alexander Isak from Newcastle.

Van Dijk received an additional ban on a match for bad behavior after his dismissal
Liverpool, who was 1-0 behind when Van Dijk received his walking orders, returned to win thanks to two late goals from the replacement Darwin Nunez.
Van Dijk had visibly demonstrated with Brooks on the red card, which was confirmed as the right decision.
The Liverpool skipper received a ban on a match due to the red card and then received another suspension from a match and was sentenced to a fine of £ 100,000 for using abusive and insulting words to the officials.
Van Dijk seemed to label the decision a “joke F ***” and took his time to leave the field. He admitted the accusation of “acting inappropriately and used abusive and insulting words towards a match manager”.
Brooks has taken care of four Liverpool games since but only this season – their 2-1 victory over Chelsea in October.
He was the man in the middle for the first stage of the victory in the semi-finals of Newcastle against Arsenal at the Emirates in January.
Brooks supervised 12 games in the Premier League this season, showing 67 yellow cards, but the official has not yet brandished a red.
Liverpool will seek a first trophy under the Arne slit, the leaders of the Premier League biding for a 11th record league cup.
Newcastle will have been looking for its first silverware since 1955 in Wembley on Sunday.
