Inglewood, California – Jim Harbaugh will not be satisfied with the end of this game. However, the pre -season does not concern the results. This is development. And the most important development of the Los Angeles 23-22 defeat in Los Angeles Rams on Saturday was a collective step of the recruit receivers.
The choice of second round Tre ‘Harris had no take on two targets in the first two games of the pre-season loaders. Saturday, he broke out. Harris led the loads with six catches over eight targets for 85 yards, including a deep ball reception on the right key line. Three of the other Harris catches experienced third decreases.

The choice of fifth round Keandre Lambert-Smith flashed with two catches for 43 yards and a hit in the match of the Hall of Fame last month. Last week against the Saints of New Orleans, Lambert-Smith had no take on two targets. On Saturday, Lambert-Smith had two explosive sockets, one for 37 yards and one for 29 yards, showing its big game potential. Like Harris, Lambert-Smith had a deep ball of the toes. The game displayed its best features: speed, hands, follow -up of bullets and body control.
Even the recruit not drafted Luke Grimm participated in the action. Grimm returned a 66 yards of clearance for a touchdown at the beginning of the fourth quarter which advanced the loads.
“All the receivers have really done an exceptional job,” said Harbaugh.
Harris and Lambert-Smith intervened after Quentin Johnston underwent a concussion during the opening of the match.
Harbaugh has decided to play his starters, including the quarter-Arrière Justin Herbert. During the third game, Johnston was opened on a GO route on the right key line. Herbert’s throw entered and took a look at Johnston’s hands. It seemed that the Cornerback Rams AJ Green could have changed the ball just before reaching Johnston. The Tanner Ingle security then delivered a huge blow to Johnston, which was broken after the game.
Johnston finally got up alone, but he was transported from the field. Harbaugh said after the match that Johnston was transported to hospital for a further evaluation of the “precaution”.
“It seemed like it could have been much worse,” said Harbaugh. “He spoke, he remembered the room, moved well. So, this is a good thing.”
The starters stayed to finish the journey, and it was Lambert -Smith – not Harris – who replaced Johnston as one of the external receivers.
Herbert was entitled to Lambert-Smith during his first meeting after Johnston’s injury. Lambert-Smith has traveled a corner road from outside to the left of the formation. Herbert launched a perfect ball in front of the Shaun Jolly corner half.
“Even if I’m covered, still expect the 10 ball,” said Lambert-Smith. “It was the placement of the elite.”
Lambert-Smith said Herbert offered encouragement in the group after completion: “More to come.”
“He lets me know,” said Lambert-Smith. “It was a bit good.”
Herbert returned to Lambert-Smith two games later on a jumping ball on the right rear area of the goal area. This one fell incomplete.
“It shouldn’t be like a safeguard,” said Lambert-Smith about working with beginners. “We don’t want nothing to slow down, and 10 have shown me that the tear turning me twice.”
Harris said that recipient coach Sanjay Lal challenged the recruit receivers on Friday, then again in the post-match on Saturday.
“We are just more intense in everything we do, whether it is the race blockage, whether we are going out and make captures,” said Harris. “Go ahead and have fun above all, and play with a certain intensity where it allows you to play freely.
“Have this controlled rage with each representative you make, and this will allow you to play with such confidence that I have been able to display today.”

Harris said the recruits “lacked” this intensity in the first two games.
“He still digs not only for me or the recruits, he digs so that everyone continues to improve,” said Harris about LAL. “No matter if it is in the racing game, it doesn’t matter if it’s at the top of the route, our outing game, he is always looking for a way for us to improve, and it is something that, in my opinion, has really helped us today.”
Harris did not separate himself in a coherent manner in individual situations in the first two games. He said his goal before Saturday’s match was “at home physically”.
It was obvious on some of his third representatives. Harris won the melee line on a third and 6 in the second quarter, carrying the catch-up of the quarter-Arrière Taylor Heinicke, who replaced Herbert.
In the third quarter, with Trey launched in the quarter, Harris took a disputed taking on a road back to the left in third and 8. Lance, which passed for 121 yards and rushed for 25 years, launched with exceptional anticipation on the room.
Four games later, Harris again won the melee line on an inclination, covering a third and 9 spear.
His ball reception came on the same disc.
“I really think it added a little confidence,” said Harris about performance.
Harris said that Saturday was his father’s birthday and that he was present at the Sofi stadium.
“The cry,” said Harris. “Happy he can go out and see me do what I do best.”
According to Harris, Grimm won the nickname “Grimm Reaper” in the receiver room. Last week, Grimm almost broke up a long return of a boot of clearance against the saints. He was triggered just before finding daylight. This week, Grimm has rebounded to his left and jumped towards the goal area behind an excellent blockage.
“This is what Reap does,” said Harris.

Adding Grimm, who missed training time at the start of the camp with an injury: “Simply prove your value. … whether it is kick -off, the boot of release, the return, the kick -off, the front line, that is not important. If I block or catch football balloons, I just want to show that I can support this team and help us win games. ”
The game ended with sour part for the loaders, like the Rams, led by the quarter Stetson Bennett IV, led 75 yards on 10 games for the winning touch. The loads abandoned a hail of 40 Mary yards on a fourth and 10 with 11 remaining seconds which set up the trigger score.
“It looks like the regular season right now,” said Harbaugh a few moments after the defeat.
He does not count in the ranking.
What could count for the victories in the future: Harris and Lambert-Smith make the types of games they made on Saturday.
“We will continue to grow together,” said Lambert-Smith.
