But as the Good Americans founder explained, she found herself detached from the pregnancy, not only because she was busy with True, but also to protect her surrogate and her family’s privacy.
“I didn’t attend many doctor’s appointments while my surrogate was pregnant,” she said, “to protect her privacy. I didn’t want the paparazzi to find out and all that kind of thing. I’ll always be on FaceTime.”
Looking back, the first time she met Tatum at the hospital was nerve-wracking.
“On my face,” she recalls, “it was like I was a deer in the headlights. I was so scared. I felt like, ‘I can’t believe this is real .'”
