Two NFL precipitation records in a single season, both detained by the Baltimore Ravens, have just been beaten – by a team from which the players are all died.
The 49ers of 1948 were now holders of official NFL records for most ground yards in one season and the highest of yards per race in one season. This team of 49ers won 3,663 yards on the ground on 603 attempts, an average of 6.1 yards per race. The 49ers played at the All-America football conference before joining the NFL in 1950, and the NFL has just decided to count the AAFC statistics in official League records.
This means that the Ravens have lost these two files. The record for most yards on the ground in a previous season belonged to the 2019 Ravens, which ran for 3,296 yards. And the record for the highest yards per race in one season was set last season by the Ravens, which on average 5.8 yards per race.
Now, these records belong to a team of 49ers which presented an impressive recruit by the name of Joe “The Jet” Perry, who would continue to have a career at the temple of fame, as well as to Johnny “Strike” Stryzkalski, who won 915 yards this season and led the AAFC with 6.5 yards per postponement.
