A glance at some of the best playoff races of Orange County County County for the last week of the regular season:
CrestView League: The League has played three series of matches for almost two months, but there has been a chance for four for first place. The contenders are Pacifica (15-10, 7-4), El Modena (18-8, 7-5), Canyon (19-8, 6-5) and Cypress (18-9, 6-5).
With a match to play, the four teams are competing for the three places in the league qualifying series. The four teams are classified in the top 10 OC this week.
A four-track impasse will occur on Tuesday if Cypress beats the visit of Pacifica and Canyon beats by visiting Esperanza (6-21, 2-9).
If there is equality of four for first place, the team in-head of the teams within the group with four teams will be used within the framework of the equality, said the president of the conference of the century, Ray Elliott. In this scenario, Canyon and Cypress would have 5-4 recordings while El Modène and Pacifica would have 4-5 recordings.
With the teams separated in a pair of links, the results of their three -game leagues series would provide the final separation in the equality break, said Elliott.
Canyon would gain the place in the N ° 1 qualifiers in the league based on the victory of the 2-1 series against Cypress, which would take the second CIF offer of the League. El Modena would claim the automatic entry of the N ° 3 qualifiers on Pacifica because he won the 2-1 team series.
In this scenario, Pacifica – the defending double champion of division 1 – would look for a place in the playoffs.
Of all the potential scenarios involving the four teams, only El Modène won at least one finish among the first three.
The division 1 qualifying series will include a support of 32 teams, said Thom Simmons, assistant commissioner and section spokesperson.
Trinity League: Mater dei (15-11-1, 4-4) and Santa Margarita (18-8-1, 4-4) enter the last round Tuesday tied for second place. One of the two places in the playoff series of the League was claimed by the Champion of the Orange Lutheran League (22-4, 6-2).
Mater Dei plays the Lutheran orange at the Fountain Valley Sports Park while Santa Margarita welcomes Jserra (14-13, 2-6).
If Mater Dei and Santa Margarita intersect for second place, the monarchs will win the automatic place according to the victory of the 2-1 team league series.
Sunset League: The race to watch is for fourth place and last automatic place in the playoff series in the League with seven teams. Fountain Valley (14-11, 6-5) and Edison (11-13, 6-5) are linked to their matches on Tuesday against first place Los Alamitos (15-12, 9-2) and Huntington Beach (20-7, 9-2), respectively.
Fountain Valley and Edison divided their two championship games. If the barons and the loaders ended equally in the fourth row, they would meet on Wednesday in Huntington Beach in a playoff series, said Edison sports director Rich Boyce.
South Coast League: Mission Viejo has ahead of Tesoro 3-2 Monday to join Capistrano Valley as an automatic qualifier of the playoffs. The cougars (15-10, 5-2) and Diablos (13-13, 5-2) are tied for the first with a match to play.
Aliso Niguel (14-12-1, 3-4) is due to beat the host Capistrano Valley Tuesday to force a draw with Tesoro (11-10, 4-4) for third place. If there is equality, a playoff series of a match for the place would be played in El Toro on Wednesday, said Wolverines sports director Andrew Mashburn.
Highway League: Sonora (16-8, 4-7) and Villa Park (13-14, 4-7) are on Tuesday in third place in their league finals. The raiders welcome second place El Dorado (16-11, 6-5) while the Spartans welcome the sunny hills (9-13, 2-9).
If Sonora and Villa Park are linked to third row, the raiders would win the third and last automatic eliminations of the league based on the victory of the 2-1 series, confirmed Elliott.
