The quarter of the University of Tulane, TJ Finely, was suspended after being arrested in New Orleans for illegal possession of stolen things more than $ 25,000 on Wednesday.
Finley, 23, was reserved and released after the arrest. Tulane said in a press release that the duration of its suspension will depend on the outcome of its case.
The university also cited the laws on confidentiality to refuse to comment more, by ESPN.
“We are aware of the situation involving TJ,” the statement said. “He was suspended from the football program pending the outcome of the case.”
“Due to the federal laws governing students’ privacy, we will not disclose any additional information concerning the student, including information related to disciplinary procedures.”
University police responded to an address where a truck blocked an alley. After scanning the license plate, the police found that the truck had been recorded on a stolen vehicle in Atlanta.

Finley was transferred to Tulane after stays in LSU, Auburn, Western Kentucky and Texas State
Finley arrived to move the car and informed the police that he had recently bought the truck. The quarter-Arrière should appear in court on June 1.
“When things happen on the field, it’s unfortunate,” said Tulane football coach Jon Summrall, at Fox 8. “I’m going to let the statement speak for what she is.”
“But when the guys make mistakes, we must have responsibility,” added the coach.
The native of Ponchatoula, in Louisiana, was transferred to Tulane in December after spending the 2024 season in western Kentucky. Before leaving, Finely had contributed to the starting square alongside other transfers Kadin Semonza and Donovan Leary.
Finley began his career in the NCAA in LSU and was transferred to Auburn where he played for two seasons. He then went to Texas State in 2023.
He started five games for LSU and Auburn, but found most of his success with Texas State where he passed for 3,439 yards and 24 affected.
