The prosecutor general of the state filed accusations of crime against the former supervisor of the county of Kern

The California’s prosecutor’s office announced on Friday the accusations of crime against the former Kern County supervisor, Zack Scrivner, after the State resumed an investigation into the allegations that Scrivner had sexually assaulted his child.

“No one is above the law”, Atty. General Rob Bonta said in a statement announcing the accusations on Friday. “At the California Ministry of Justice, we will continue to fight for the inhabitants of California and to hold those who live the law responsible.”

Following a “in -depth investigation” by the Ministry of Justice of the State, Scrivner faces three accusations of child abuse and two charges of possession of assault weapons . The accusations were deposited before the upper court of the county of Kern. Scrivner was to be brought to justice on Friday at 3 p.m. on Friday.

The Bonta office said before that the Attorney General had taken care of the case due to the “conflict of potential interests” involving the Kern County Prosecutor’s Office. Kern County Dist. Atty. Cynthia Zimmer is the aunt of Scrivner.

Scrivner resigned from the county supervisor council in August. In a letter to President David Couch, Scrivner did not mention the allegations formulated against him. Instead, he said he resigned for “important health and medical reasons”.

The lawyer for Scrivner, Ha Sala, denied the allegation of sexual assault in the comments to the media, saying that he had proof that refutes the affirmations made by the sheriff. Sala could not be joined to comment on Friday.

In April, the sheriff of the county of Kern Donny Youngblood declared during a press conference that Zimmer had contacted the sheriff and declared that Scrivner was armed in his home in Tehachapi and seemed to have “a certain type of psychotic episode” .

Youngblood said he learned that Scrivner had a physical altercation and had been stabbed twice in the upper chest by one of his children for allegations that he had attacked another. The four minor children of Scrivner were at home at the time, but his wife, who had already asked for divorce, was not.

The detectives obtained a search warrant and ended up seizing 30 firearms, psychedelic mushrooms, electronic devices and possible evidence of sexual assault in the House, Youngblood said at the press conference.

According to the complaint of the state, Scrivner faces two charges of illegal possession of a semi-automatic AK-47 style rifle and a semi-automatic AR-15-5-colt rifle.

The complaint offers few details on what happened on April 23. According to the Attorney General of the State, scrivner “consumed drugs and substances altering the mind and / or mood, went to bed” with a child, who was not identified and touched on inappropriately the child.

Scrivner, according to the state, also faces a crime count after having highlighted a firearm, during which a fight was engaged with one of the children at home.

Before his resignation, Scrivner represented the District 2, which includes Bakersfield, California City, Frazier Park, Taft and Tehachapi, covering approximately 3,660 square miles. The supervisor council held an election in November to fill the position.

Residents of the County of Kern had demanded that Scrivner resign before the announcement of the accusations. The members of the county council refused to comment on the investigation.

Scrivner has been supervisor from the Board of Directors since 2010, according to his district biography. Before that, he was elected to the municipal council of Bakersfield. He also spent four years working for the former president of the Kevin McCarthy room.
