The prosecutor general of Louisiana continues Roblox, calling the platform “the ideal place for pedophiles”

On Thursday, the best prosecutor in Louisiana continued the popular online game platform, alleging that his inability to implement solid safety protocols for children made them “the ideal place for pedophiles”.

The prosecution, filed by the Attorney General Liz Murrill in the 21st Judicial District of Louisiana, accuses the Californian company of intentionally or recklessly designing a platform without age verification process, allowing tens of millions of Roblox users to easily create accounts with false birthdays.

Adults can arise as a child, depending on the costume, and children can bypass controls for users under the age of 13.

Launched in 2006, Roblox has a sprawling catalog of games and “experiences”, many of which are designed by users and include messaging in real time. According to the company’s annual report in 2024-25, 20% of the 82 million active users of the platform were under 9 years old, according to the trial.

“Roblox is exceeded in harmful content and children’s predators because it hierartes user growth, income and profits on children’s safety,” Murrill said in a statement. “Each parent must be aware of the clear and present (posed) danger to their children by Roblox so that he can prevent the unthinkable from performing at home.”

The 42-page costume indicates a sexually explicit “experiences” tour which has been on the platform, notably “Escape to Epstein Island”, “Diddy Party” and “Public Bathroal Simulator Vibe”, and he alleges that a man arrested for suspicion of possession of a sexual child abuse in Louisiana last month used the platform at the time.

The man had used voice technology to imitate the sound of a young woman to attract and exploit minors on the platform, according to the costume.

The prosecution, which lightens unfair trade practices, negligence and unfair enrichment, does not specify damages but seeks a permanent order which prohibits Roblox from violating the law on unfair trade practices of the State or to promote its characteristics of so adequate security, which says it regularly.

In a statement, a Roblox spokesperson said that even if the company is committed to working with the prosecutor’s office to ensure children’s safety, it is “categorically false” that Roblox would intentionally put users in danger.

The spokesman has cited the consecrates of “vast resources” to support a safe platform and the rigorous guarantees of which he has, including restrictions on the sharing of personal information, links and sharing of the user.

“Unfortunately, bad players will try to get around our systems to try to deactivate users outside the platform, where safety standards and moderation practices can differ,” said the spokesperson. “We are constantly working to block these efforts and improve our moderation approaches to promote a safe and pleasant environment for all users.”

In November, the platform announced a series of security measures that prevented users under the age of 13 from sending direct messages and included new content categories to help determine what is for age for users.

These measures were deployed the month After New York analysts, Hindenburg, called Roblox a “Pedophile Landscape Classified X, exposing children to grooming, pornography, violent content and an extremely abusive speech”.

Roblox denied the complaint, saying in a statement that the analyst’s report was misleading and citing what he described as an important investment in measures of trust and security.

Thursday’s trial described the recent corporate security measures as “too little, too late and terribly inadequate”.
