The prices of the eggs finally fell, but the cost of the beef reached a record last month. Here’s how daily prices change under Trump.

It has been more than 100 days since President Donald Trump took office. He swore during the campaign to reduce food prices on the first day, and although egg prices finally decrease, the cost of other consumer goods remains high.

Now $ 6 the book, the average price of chopped beef has reached a record for the third consecutive month, jumping 15 hundred since March. The cost of electricity also remained at its peak in April, according to the latest data in the consumer price index.

Some good news? The prices of eggs fall from the heights of all time. The average cost of eggs settled at $ 5.12 in April, down approximately 18% compared to March.

However, the cost of many goods and services has been about the same with the change of administration. The price of milk, bread and chicken has moved very little since December.

Although many of these prices are not directly linked to the White House, they could soon be, with a booming world trade war that certainly affects the average prices of the pump grocery store.

The tribune follows 11 daily costs for Americans – eggs, milk, bread, bananas, oranges, tomatoes, chicken, chopped beef, petrol, electricity and natural gas – and how they change (or not) under the second Trump administration. This tracker is updated monthly using CPI data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Eggs

Breakfast lovers, delight! Egg prices have dropped for the first time in months.

In April, the average cost of a dozen high -year eggs A was $ 5.12 nationally, more than one dollar compared to the previous month. This is the first time that egg prices have decreased since October, probably due to a declining number of bird flu boxes in commercial herds and backyard.

In February, there were approximately 12.6 million birds affected by highly pathogenic avian flu in the United States, according to the American department of agriculture. In March, this number was 2.1 million and in April, only 1 million American birds were affected – these cases are mainly concentrated in two commercial herds of southern Dakota and Ohio.

However, the cost of eggs remains about 24% higher than before Trump takes up his duties. But with the number of cases of influenza birds reported on the decline, the experts expect the prices of the eggs to continue in the summer months.

Milk

It is not only poultry and wild birds that have been affected by the bird flu. According to centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the virus has been reported in dairy cows since March 2024, and last month, 48 new experiences experienced in dairy farms in California, Arizona and Idaho.

But while avian influenza cases decrease in poultry, they increase in cattle. In April, the number of newly infected dairy cows was double that of March and represented the largest number of cases reported in a single month since the start of the new calendar year.

It may therefore not be surprising that the cost of milk increases, although far from the volatile points observed in egg prices. The current average cost is only a difference of 4 cents compared to January.

In April, a tall and fortified whole gallon of whole milk would cost you about $ 4.07.

Bread

According to the national average, the white bread was around $ 1.91 per book in April. The bread is at around 4.3% less than 12 months ago.

Banana

An element that has not seen many fluctuations in recent years is bananas. The price of the fruit remained reliably – $ 0.64 $ 0.64 per pound in April.

Oranges

Orange prices are expected to increase regularly in the coming months. But don’t worry, because it’s normal.

Like many citrus fruits, oranges prices are strongly linked to the harvest season. As we leave the oranges season, supplies will decrease, coinciding with an increase in demand, thus triggering higher prices. This is standard for the fruit market, the oranges being the cheapest during the winter months, then increases costs throughout spring and summer and finally culminating in September or October of each year.

Currently, the average cost per book for navel oranges is $ 1.49 nationally.

Tomatoes

In the United States, the average price of tomatoes cultivated on the ground was $ 1.79 The book in April. This cost is slightly lower than that of the previous month and down approximately 13% since Trump took power.

This change, however, probably has little to do with the administration. Like the oranges, the prices of tomatoes vary depending on the period of the year, increasing in the fall, culminating at the beginning of the winter months, then pampering in the spring.

Chicken

The national average exceeded $ 2 the book for fresh and whole chicken for the first time last year and reached a record of $ 2.08 in November. Since then, the average cost has been about the same. According to the latest IPC figures, the chicken costs the book $ 2.06.

Ground beef

Your next backyard barbecue could be more expensive, with the cost of increasing chopped beef.

Prices increased again from March to April, jumping almost 2.5% at a record level, according to BLS data. The average price of 100% beef is now $ 6.00 per book – 15 cents more than the previous record last month.

This is probably due to a number of factors. In addition to several major chopped beef reminders reported in recent months, the American livestock inventory is a hollow of 25 years, and a severe drought in certain parts of the country has further reduced food supply for food, according to the US Department of Agriculture.

More recently, in commercial negotiations with the United States, the United Kingdom has agreed to buy more American beef, an agreement which, according to the president, will lead to larger exports. But like China and the European Union prices on beef and other American farm exports have remained, this is perhaps not the last time that we have seen record prices this year.

It may be the year to try vegetarianism?

Electricity

In April, the average electricity price nationwide was 18 hundred per kilowatt-hour. This average has remained more or less the same since May from last year, the typical changes from one month to the next registering for less than a fraction of one hundred.

Despite this, the current cost of electricity is the highest ever recorded – return over 45 years.

Essence

The pump price climbs again.

The cost of gas has increased by 10 cents per month to $ 3.33 per regular unleaded gallon, an increase of 6% compared to last month of the Biden administration.

Nevertheless, prices remain approximately 12% lower than what they were in April 2024, and much less than the breathtaking figures of the jaw, many Americans knew three were there.

The prices in Chicago, on the other hand, are approximately 12 cents higher than the national average, located at $ 3.45 per Gallon, according to the US Energy Information Administration.

Natural gas

Utilitarian gas, or natural gas, is another expenditure that slips.

Average national prices are $ 1.63 per therm – highest they have been in two years.
