The president and chief executive officer of the UFC, Dana White, criticized Bryce Mitchell for having made anti -Semitic and homophobic comments on a podcast during which the featherweight also praised Adolf Hitler and denied the holocaust.
But, citing freedom of expression, White said that the organization would not take any disciplinary measure against Mitchell.
“I have heard a lot of stupid and ignorant shit over the years, but it’s probably the worst,” White said in a press release published by the UFC. “First of all, when you talk about Hitler, he was responsible for the death of 6 million Jews and he was his intention to completely eliminate the Jewish people.”
White said the UFC had allowed Mitchell to know what he said unacceptable.
“Hitler is one of the most disgusting human beings and the worst to have ever worked on earth, and whoever tries to take an opposite position is a moron,” said White. “This is the problem with the Internet and social media. You provide a platform to many stupid and ignorant people. »»
Mitchell, who participates in the featherweight division of the biggest promotion of MMA, comments on the first episode of his podcast Arkansanity, where he suggested that Hitler was a “good guy” who “fought for his country ”.
“Here is what I say on (Elon Musk) with Hitler, with the Nazis: I really don’t think it was, because I honestly think that Hitler was a good guy based on my own research, not my indoctrination of public education, “said Mitchell.
He added: “I really think that before Hitler on methamphetamine, he was a guy with whom I will fish. He fought for his country. Despite the views, the whites described as “dumb and ignorant”, the long -time UFC chief defended Mitchell’s right to express them.
“This is freedom of expression,” said White. “This is the beautiful thing about this company, for all those who hate Bryce Mitchell, you can see it, let’s hope, have her ass on world television.”
