Today, the president of the Federal Trade Commission, Andrew N Ferguson, published a letter to the American trustee concerning the bankruptcy procedure of 23andm, expressing the concerns of American consumers with the sale or the potential transfer of their 23andme data.
“Many Americans are concerned about the impact of a potential sale of their personal data, and I understand these concerns,” said President Ferguson. “Consumers should be able to trust that companies will hold their promises, including with regard to the processing of sensitive information.”
