The pope has a restful night in the hospital

“The Pope spent a relaxing night and woke up shortly after 8:00 am,” said the Holy See press office in a declaration to journalists on Friday morning.

Pope Francis continued his prescribed therapy, including motor physiotherapy this morning. It continues to alternate mechanical ventilation at night and additional high speed oxygen during the day with the use of nasal cannulas. The situation seems stable in the context of a complex image.

Thursday, the state of Pope Francis remained stable, without “no episode of respiratory failure”. The Holy See press office said that “given the stability of its clinical condition, the next medical bulletin will be published on Saturday”. However, the press office will continue to provide brief updates to the Holy Father.
