A passenger was accused of having endangered the security of an airplane and attacking a member of the cabin crew after trying to open emergency doors during a flight. Shadi Taiseer Alsaaydeh tried to open the rear emergency doors on an Airasia X flight from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Sydney, Australia on Saturday. The 46 -year -old man, who is said to be a head of the Jordanian government, was escorted to a seat in the middle of the plane where he would have tried to open a second series of emergency doors. The staff and passengers have sought to remember Alsaaydeh leading to a fight in which he would have smothered one of the cabin teams. Australian federal police officers met the plane when they arrived at Sydney airport and arrested Alsaaydeh. On Sunday, he was charged to the local court of Parramatta with two charges of endangering the plane and an assault chief – each offense bearing a maximum sentence of 10 years. The airport police commander Davina Copelin said: “The actions of this man could have had tragic consequences, and the passengers and the planes staff should not have to have an unruly, violent or dangerous behavior during theft.”
