David Gray believes that he has a lot of room to improve as a manager after having been rewarded for a first solid season in charge of Hibernian with a contract extension until 2028.
The 36 -year -old was appointed last summer on an agreement until 2027 after captain of Paster Road Club as a player, then venturing into training during his retirement in 2021.
After the start of the test at his reign in which Hibs spent time at the bottom of the Prime Minister’s table, Gray supervised a remarkable reduction in shape – incorporating an undefeated race of 17 record games in the League – which brought them in third place in post -SPS devices.
“It is obviously brilliant to obtain this recognition,” said the boss of Paster Road after him and his assistants Eddie May, Liam Craig and Craig Samson received new offers.
“It does not happen by accident, he has just sticks to your beliefs and everyone stands together during this difficult period. I learned a lot about me this season, my first year of management, the challenges that accompany this.
“There is still a lot of improvement and learning to do. I learn all the time, I try to improve myself all the time, but I am delighted with the place where we are at this time, and when the club manifests itself and seeks to think in the future, it is always pleasant to obtain this recognition.

Gray watched the edge of the bag in November with his club at the foot of the table
Gray appeared on the edge of the bag in November when Hibs was seated at the bottom of the table. When he was asked if he was always convinced that he could stay, he smiled: “I would love to say yes, of course, I knew it was always going to happen, never in doubt!
“Obviously, being always seated here, it just shows you how this game works. You know that when you register for this work, or any job in football, all this focuses on the results.
“At the start of the season, I was very, very clear, and I knew that we were under the other hand, but I never stopped believing that we could make it run.”
The Hibs are currently third, three points ahead of Dundee United and Aberdeen, and they can take a big step towards a fourth third place in the 21st century if they beat Pittodrie donations this afternoon.
“It’s a huge incitement,” said Gray. “If you look at the form table per minute, ourselves, Aberdeen and Dundee United are very good with a good race at the right time of the season, which will make it interesting.
“I am delighted with the position in which we have placed ourselves, but that’s all right now, it’s just a position and a starting point. But if we continue to win, no one can catch us.
