The legend of the man they call “Dick Mountain” continues – while the oldest player in baseball hopes to suppress a list of major leagues.
The 45 -year -old Southpaw launcher Rich Hill signed a minor league contract with the Kansas City Royals, as the ball club revealed on Tuesday.
Hill will take up triple-a oma storm chasers because he will try to play for a 14th MLB franchise at some point this season.
If Hill does this, he will move on equal for most MLB teams for which a person has ever played.
Hill is currently equal to the late Octavio Dotel. If he adapts for the Royals, he will join his colleague Edwin Jackson at the top of this particular mountain.
The professional baseball trip for the native of Milton, in the Massachusetts, began in 1999 when he was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds on the 36th round.

He managed to join the Big Red Machine in favor of playing university baseball at the University of Michigan.
Hill was drafted again in 2001 – this time, in the seventh round by the Angels Anaheim – but once again chose to play at university.
It was finally signed by the Cubs of Chicago, who chose him in the fourth round in 2002. Cubs were team 1 of 13 for Hill when he made his MLB debut against the Marlins of Florida in 2005.
Hill played for the Cubs for four seasons, an anomaly of his career, before signing with the Orioles of Baltimore for a season.
After that, he spent three seasons to present for his hometown of Boston Red Sox.
From there, Hill embarked on a series of stays of a season: Cleveland Indians in 2013, New York Angels and Yankees in 2014, the Red Sox in 2015 (after a brief stint in the Agricultural System for Washington Nationals), and the Oakland in 2016.
Just before the 2016 commercial deadline, the hill exchanged A to the Los Angeles dodgers in exchange for a set of prospects. Before this job, Hill had one of the best seasons in his career – winning the Al launcher in May of the same year.
Hill would remain with the Dodgers during Seasons Four parts – reaching the playoffs in the four. He started twice for the Dodgers in the 2017 World Series, where they lost against the Astros of Houston and once in the 2018 World Series, where they lost against the Red Sox.

After being not tense at the end of the 2019 season, Hill rebounded again around the League: 2020 with the Twins of Minnesota, 2021 with the Rays of Tampa Bay and the New York Mets, the Red Sox a third time in 2022, the Pittsburgh Pirates and San Diego Padres in 2023, and most recently, a fourth seat 2024.
The career of Hill’s companion led him to interact with a number of players, one in particular giving him his nickname.
Brock Holt, member of the Red Sox 2015, thought it would be funny to give the launcher the nickname “Dick Mountain” – “Dick” being short for “Richard” and “Mountain” being adjacent to “Hill”.
Hill clearly did not hate the name, putting him in the back of his jersey during the player’s weekend in 2018.
At 20 seasons at MLB, Hill is the longest active player in baseball.
